New York Sea Grant is looking for 15 teachers who would like a 4-day, experiential professional opportunity focusing on Lake Ontario, to be held in Oswego, NY, from July 22-25.
The workshop is FREE and teachers will receive a $400 stipend, as well as verification for 23 contact hours for professional development. Additionally, funds will be available during the school year for busing to allow your students to be involved in a stewardship activity.
Teachers from the Western New York area who are not in commuting distance will be offered hotel accommodations (double occupancy) and meals for the workshop period. Transportation to field trip locations will be provided during the workshop.
Only 15 spaces are available, so please respond ASAP. Pairs or teams of teachers from a school or district are encouraged to apply for this unique professional development opportunity. The workshop runs from 9:00-4:00 Monday through Thursday, with no evening sessions or demands. After hours, teachers can relax, enjoy the lake or explore the Oswego area.
Please respond with an email indicating your interest and submit your application by May 31st.
