New York Sea Grant is hosting 2 exciting workshops this summer! Both workshops are FREE and offer a $250 stipend for participation and a stewardship activity. Classroom materials will also be distributed.
A 2-day workshop focused on Lake Ontario, that includes a day at the Cornell Biological Field Station (Bridgeport, NY) and a visit to the US Geological Survey Laboratory (Oswego) is scheduled for Thursday, July 31st and Friday, August 1st. The second workshop will focus on Lake Erie, and includes seining on the Niagara River and a science cruise aboard the Spirit of Buffalo on Tuesday, August 12th & Wednesday, August 13th.
You are invited to attend either workshop, but please be aware that there may be some duplication of information that you learned at earlier Sea Grant workshops. If you think of it as review, there will be plenty of new material and information offered.
If you are not interested or unavailable, please email this flyer on to colleagues who may be interested in learning more about Lake Ontario and Lake Erie in these fun, experiential workshops.
To register, please fill out the application information on the flyer and send me an email indicating that you agree to pay our $50 cancellation fee, if you register and fail to show up for the 2-day workshop you are interested in.
There are funds available for hotels and meals if you live more than 40 miles from either workshop location. Please indicate if you will need lodging provided.
Feel free to email Helen Domske with any questions.
