New Social Studies Draft Framework Available

The Draft 9-12 SS Framework has been posted to the EngageNY site along with a survey. Please take the time to carefully read through and reflect on this draft document. The deadline for the survey is March 8th. I would also appreciate it if you would share this information with your colleagues. Thank you in advance for your time and attention to this matter.

It is important that each unit of study has a distinct beginning and end point that defines the course content and can inform test developers. Under the current proposal, the first unit of study could culminate in an end-of-course exam (a Regents exam, pending availability of funding). The second unit of study would culminate in a Regents examination that would be required for graduation (the first administration would be in June 2016) and that would provide appropriate rigor for college and career readiness.
