New Jersey Geographic Alliance is hosting three spring Professional Development Seminars for 4th – 8th grade teachers! All Workshops will focus on the Delaware Bay Watershed. They have been kind enough to invite New York teachers, especially those from the Hudson Valley, the Catskills, or metro NYC. The workshop dates are May 31st and June 14th.
The two workshops will be held at the Poconos Environmental Education Center in Dingmans Ferry, PA (located approximately 20 miles from the junction of Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey) from 10 am to 3 pm. Lunch provided at all workshops. The participating teachers will be taught how to bring National Geographic’s Fieldscope, an interactive and cutting-edge GIS technology program, into their classrooms. All participants will also get field experience on the water. Free materials, including maps, books, and sample lesson plans will be handed out at the workshops! A certificate recognizing 5 hours of professional development will be handed out at the workshops.
The organizers are also offering up to a $200 stipend for teachers participating in the workshops! Interested? Great! Complete the Contract Form to Register. There are only 15 available seats for each workshop. First come first serve. http://njga.org/?page_id=132
