Membership in NYGA

The NYGA provides teachers with access to geographic materials, opportunities for professional development and interaction, and a free subscription to News Notes.

Most of the NYGA's members are K-12 teachers, but the membership also includes college and university professors, school administrators, and others interested in the NYGA's mission. The NYGA is part of a nationwide network of state geographic alliances, partnered with the National Geographic Society.

Membership in the New York Geographic Alliance is free and open to anyone interested in teaching geography in the classroom, and promoting geographic education in New York State. Members receive a subscription to NewsNotes, the Alliance newsletter, geomaterials, lesson plans, and opportunities for professional development and interaction.
