Map Interpretation Workshop Registration Form

Through the B-WET Upper Susquehanna Project, sponsored by a grant from NOAA, the New York Geographic Alliance is pleased to sponsor the Map Interpretation Workshop on April 26, 2018 starting at 9 am. This is full day professional development opportunity. There will be two parts. The first will be at the Museum of the Earth and the second will be at the Cayuga Nature Center. Both are near Ithaca, NY. In the morning, Susan Hoskins, Senior Extension Associate of the Cornell University's IRIS Program, will present topographic mapping and aerial imagery of the Finger Lakes Region. It will also feature a tour of the Museum of the Earth, one of the premier institutions on the History of Life anywhere.

At noon, the participants will travel "up the lake" to the Cayuga Nature Center. Lunch will be served there, to be followed by outdoor activities along a creek. It will be led by Ingrid Zabel, Climate Change Specialist for the Paleontological Research Institution (PRI). We will be looking for signs of climate change, and she will demonstrate some stewardship activities that can be used in YOUR classroom.

Location: Museum of the Earth, 1259 Trumansburg Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850
Time: April 26 at 9 am
