New York Geographic Bee 2017
It's time to register your school for the 2017 National Geographic Bee! If you register before December, the fee is $100. (There is a scholarship for schools with limited funding). Once you are registered, National Geographic will send you materials to run you school bee. How that is organized is up to you, but it must be held between October 3, 2016 and February 6, 2017. The winner of the school bee must then take a test issued by Nat Geo to qualify for the State Bee. Only 100 students will be selected to move on to Albany.
The New York State Geographic Bee 2017 will be held on March 31, 2017 at the New York State Museum in Albany, NY (at the Empire Plaza on Madison Ave.). Our state winner will go on to Washington, DC in May 15th.
The New York Geographic Alliance is proud to be involved in this great event. The Coordinator of the New York Geographic Bee is Jeanne O'Bryan, a member of our Board of Directors. Tim McDonnell will be moderating the final competition this year.
*** URGENT! Our Bee Coordinator, Jeanne O'Bryan, needs help. Can you join us to help as a scorekeeper, timekeeper, or moderator of the preliminary rounds? If so, please contact Jeanne email@example.com Thank you!
